This is a Hybrid Position Job SummaryIn this role as a Cybersecurity Engineer you will support the Department of the Navy.
The primary responsibility will be to implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, manage vulnerabilities, and document RMF artifacts.
A deep understanding of the Navy's cybersecurity requirements, including familiarity with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), is essential.
This position requires a proactive individual with a strong commitment to excellence in cybersecurity.
As with any position, additional expectations exist.
Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesImplement and manage the RMF process for Department of the Navy systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and security standards.
Analyze and respond to IAVAs, ensuring timely mitigation and reporting in alignment with Department of Navy protocols.
Apply STIGs to Navy systems and networks, ensuring that all security configurations are up to date and compliant with the latest standards.
Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
Document RMF artifacts meticulously, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records for audit and compliance purposes.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the security posture of Navy information systems.
Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, ensuring that Navy systems are safeguarded against emerging risks.
Basic QualificationsCompTIA Security
or IAM II or higher CertificationMinimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on RMF, vulnerability management, and compliance documentation.
Familiarity with IAVA, STIGs, and other Department of the Navy cybersecurity protocols.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred QualificationsPrior experience working with Department of the Navy or other military/government cybersecurity environments.
Proven track record of managing RMF processes and vulnerability mitigation in a Department of Navy setting.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
